Although Watermark Solid Surfaces are made of composite materials, points toward LEED certification points can still be found. The eco-responsible resins found in our composite construction contain both post-consumer recycled material and rapidly renewable material. Award points for these categories are under Materials and Resources MR 4.1, MR 4.2 and MR 6.
Here’s how: credit points are awarded on percent cost of the fraction of recycled or rapidly renewable materials. In composite materials, for each 10% of the construction material that is post-consumer recycled, one point is awarded. And for every 2.5% of the material that is rapidly renewable, one point is awarded. Our eco-friendly resins represent 15% and 5.5%, respectively, which is good news for your LEED specifications.
